Tanak survives final day scare to win Acropolis rally Greece

Winner Ott Tanäk

Estonian Ott Tanäk was victorious in Greece despite gearbox trouble on the final stage. This win ends a long drought of wins since last October when he took victory in the 2024 Central European Rally. Sebastian Ogier was 32.8 seconds further back in 2nd and the other Hyundai of Adrien Formaux was over 3 minutes off the lead in third. In the super Sunday standings Ogier claimed all 5 points along with 5 points for the power stage win. 2nd was Tanäk despite dropping some time in the power stage. 3rd was Elfyn Evans who maintains the championship lead but by just 9 points over Toyota teammate Sebastian Ogier. 4th in the super Sunday standings and claiming 2 points was Adrien Fourmaux. Despite having sustained suspension damage and knocking a tire off the rim earlier in the day the French driver still had a good weekend for himself and Hyundai. And fifth in the super Sunday standings was Thierry Neuville. A frustrating weekend for the Belgian was only worsened when engine troubles hampered any progress possible. Ireland’s Josh McErlean struggled all weekend and finished 12th overall. Himself and M-sport teammate Grégoire Munster now fall behind Oliver Solberg (Wrc-2) in the championship standings. As it stands in the championship standings: Elfyn Evans/Scott Martin- 150 PTS
Sebastian Ogier/Vincent Landais- 141 PTS
Ott Tanäk/Martin Järveoja- 138 PTS
Kalle Rovanpera/ Jonne Halttunen- 117 PTS
Thierry Neuville/ Martin Wydaeghe-96 PTS
