Day 2 at rally Estonia has finished with a suprise leader with Wrc-2 regular Oliver Solberg leading in a once off outing in a Toyota Yaris Rally1 car. The Swede said he has one objective and it is to get to the end of the rally however, after day 2 it seems that he is now after top honours at what is the largest sporting event in the Baltic regions. After the day he leads by 12.4 seconds over Ott Tanäk with Hyundai teammate and reigning world champion Thierry Neuville in 3rd. Neuville was joint fastest with Takamoto Katsuta through the Elva Linn super special stage on Friday evening. 4th is Kalle Rövanpera who has had a slow but steady start to the rally 20 seconds off Oliver Solberg at this point. 5th was Adrien Formaux who gained confidence and speed as the day went on as he posted some very competitive times throughout the day. 6th was Takamoto Katsuta who has had a fairly lackluster day behind the wheel of his Toyota Yaris Rally1 machine with the super special being his only real showing of performance so far. 7th was championship leader Elfyn Evans who despite cleaning the road all day he could still boast up some reasonably fast times and is 41.4 seconds off the lead. He will have a better road position so hopefully he is hopeful that he can make some progress tomorrow. 8th with some issues throughout the day was Sami Pajari. In the morning Pajari lost over 30 seconds throughout Stage 4 and 5 with power unit issues and then in the afternoon losing a further few seconds with a handbrake issue. The Finn was clearly frustrated at some points throughout the day but showed some pace on the last few tests. 9th and heading the M-sport crews home tonight was Martin Sesks. Sesks got off to a cautious start and a spin on SS2 didn’t help either but come stage 6/7 Kambja 1 & 2 he was right up at the sharp end posting times on par with Ott Tanäk. 10th was Josh McErlean who has been keeping his Puma between the hedges but the Irishman feels as though he is leaving a bit to be desired aboard his Puma. And 11th was Gregoire Munster. The Luxembourger is also playing the long game keeping his Puma on the road.
