Hyundai shell mobis world rally team have today announced that they will be “deselecting” Ott Tanäk from scoring constructors points, freeing him from a rule that only permits three engine changes per year.
This comes after Tanäk was leading Rally Chile before an engine problem ruined any chance of a good result for the Estonian. He managed to rejoin the rally on Sunday in a bid to score Super Sunday points however due to more engine trouble with an engine from Sweden he was still far off the pace despite a clearly committed run through Sundays final 4 stages.
